Speaking With Designer Samantha Pleet
for the entire interview click here!
I recently had a chance to catch up with NY designer Samantha Pleet, to see what's she's up to since her involvement with Space15Twenty back in November. And to my delight she's been up to a few things that are to my liking and anticipation. Things like a menswear line with husband Patrick Pleet, and her happy separation with Bodkin partner Eviana, to focus fully on her own Samantha Pleet Fall 09 collection.
But then, this did not come as a surprise as I learned a little of her history, and found out that her grandmother was "the most stylish woman" she knew, and that her sculptor grandfather played the mandolin! Should we expect anything less from a lady who likes to treasure hunt? Read on to learn more about this designer who's gathered a cult following after her.Sunday, January 18, 2009

Calling for a Secretary of the Arts
Quincy Jones has started a petition to ask President-Elect Obama to appoint a Secretary of the Arts. While many other countries have had Ministers of Art or Culture for centuries, The United States has never created such a position. We in the arts need this and the country needs the arts--now more than ever. Please take a moment to sign this important petition and then pass it on to your friends and colleagues. It may help if you sign here

We just got back from an epic trip to Taormina, Sicily where we witnessed erupting volcanoes, Roman Ruins, happy honeybees, caves, foxes, and Ferraris. Here are some of our favorite moments.
